About us
Kremna, in the municipality of Užice, is a village situated near two of the most beautiful mountain areas in Western Serbia: Tara National Park and Zlatibor. Because of its beautiful natural surroundings, its traditions and the generous hospitality of its inhabitants, which make it an ideal base for rural tourism, the Kremna area attracts an increasing number of visitors the whole year round. Kremna was proclaimed an "air spa" at the beginning of the 20th century because of its height above sea level (750-850 metres), its nature and air quality. After the First World War the train line between Belgrade and Sarajevo arrived in Kremna. The geography of the Sargan mountains made it necessary to build the tracks in the shape of an eight: the result was the engineering masterpiece now called the “Sargan eight”, which you can still enjoy in the village of Mokra Gora. Kremna is also well known because of the Tarabic prophecies: two illiterate peasants in the 19th century had visions of the future of the country and their words were recorded by the local priest, Zaharije Zaharić. Kremna has 2,500 inhabitants and 800 households. Visitors can find basic services such as bars, food shops, a chemist, police station and a petrol station. Our guest house has received several prizes and awards. For example in 2007 we were recognised as the best village guest house in the Užice area and in 2008 we were voted the most beautiful village garden in Užice. In our “book of impressions” you find the comments of visitors from Serbia and other countries of the former Yugoslavia, as well as from South Africa, United Kingdom, Spain, France, United States, Sweden, Canada, Israel and other countries.
